More bad news for Boston College football. BC coach Frank Spaziani said in his conference call with reporters today that defensive end Alex Albright had suffered a fractured fibula of his right leg in Saturday's 24-21 loss to Maryland.

Albright suffered the injury in the first half and the seriousness of the injury obviously ends his career at BC for the 6-foot-5 inch 251 pound senior. "It's tough,'' conceded Spaziani, who had watched Albright battle through a series of injuries during his career at BC.

Better news for BC was the condition of safety Wes Davis who injured his neck in the third quarter of the Maryland game and was taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for further evaluation. But tests showed no fracture and Davis was released today.
"The issue with Wes was that he had a previous operation (on his neck in 2007),'' said Spaziani. "That complicates things. He (Davis) has some issues to deal with.
There is less certainty about cornerback DeLeon Gause who was suffered a right knee injury against Maryland.

Spaziani said surgery was not required, but there is some cartilage damage."We have to see how severe the pain is,'' said Spaziani.
