In the aftermath of Saturday's 19-0 loss to Virginia Tech--the first time the Eagles had been shut out in 12 years, Boston College coach Frank Spaziani said that the Eagles would have a new starting quarterback for Saturday night's game against Notre Dame.
"We are going to make a change at quarterback,'' said Spaziani, indicating that back-up Mike Marscovetra and freshman Chase Rettig wil move up in the depth chart for the starting job this week for the job which had belonged to sophomore Dave Shinskie."" Mike and Chase will compete for the job this week.''
Shinskie was demoted following the loss to Tech in which he threw a pair of interceptions as well as lost a fumble.
