Eagles offense continues to sputter
The Boston College offense offered more of the same today in a situational scrimmage--more interceptions by quarterbacks Chris Crane and Dominque Davis.
"I don't like the turnovers one bit,'' said BC coach Jeff Jagodzinski , referring to a pair of interceptions thrown by Crane and Davis "It's disturbing to me the amount of turnovers we are getting. On the flip side, the defense keeps taking balls away and keeps scoring. I'd love to win a game 2-0.''
Jagodzinski said he has plans to use Davis, currently the back up to Crane, during each game, depending on the situation. "Maybe sometime in the second quarter in each game,'' said Jagodzinski. "It's something we're working on as a staff. But we have to get him ready, he's one snap away from being the guy, so we have to find out if he's ready. I really think he has gotten better.''
The Eagles will have practice on Thursday morning and then take the afternoon off as they move into their dorms for the year. Jagodzinski said he will start putting in the game plans for Kent State (season opener on August 30th) and Georgia Tech (home opener on Sept. 6th) in the next few days as well..Linebacker Brian Toal did not participate in this afternoon's scrimmage as he deals with some soreness in his back and neck. "Not a big deal,'' said Toal, "But I will be ready to play in the opener. Count on it.''
