The Boston Cannons today won the championship of Major League Lacrosse, defeating the Hamilton Nationals, 10-9, in the final game played in Annapolis, Md.
Boston's Matt Poskay scored three goals in the first half as the Cannons took a 6-3 lead into halftime. The Nationals would come back, but midfielder Kevin Buchanan scored the eventual game-winning goal to put the Cannons up 10-8 with 3:30 remaining.

The Cannons won their first title in their ninth postseason appearance in 11 seasons. Goaltender Jordan Burke -- who had 24 saves in two games this weekend, was named the tournament MVP.
Eleven Cannons players scored as Boston defeated the Chesapeake Bayhawks, 14-13, in Saturday's semifinal.
