HIGHLIGHTS: After taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Salem Sox (59-60) were knocked off balance when the Blue Rocks plated four in the third and the Sox could not get back on track, despite pulling within one. Salem is three games back in the Carolina League’s Southern Division. … Starter Kyle Stroup and reliever Mike McCarthy allowed a combined seven runs and ten hits in 6 2/3 innings. Stroup has not made it out of the fourth inning in his last six starts and is 0-4 with a 12.21 ERA. McCarthy has allowed eight runs and 19 hits in his last three relief appearances. … Mookie Betts went 0-for-2 with two walks, a run and a stolen base. His nine game hit streak was snapped in the process. … Blake Swihart went 1-for-4 and is hitting .351 in nine August games.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Red Sox improved to 39-20 as they come back from a 2-0 deficit to win their third straight. … Starter Yankory Pimentel did not give up an earned run in his six innings of work, striking out six and allowing six hits and a walk. It was his second straight win. … Victor Ramirez worked a perfect seventh inning for his 12th save, striking out two of three batters he faced. He is second in the DSL in saves. … Catcher Jhon Nunez went 1-for-3 with a double to extend his hitting streak to seven games.

HIGHLIGHTS: After being blanked in the first two frames, the Red Sox scored in each of the final five innings in a completion of a rain suspended game from August 8th. … Luis Ortega earned the win after striking out four and allowing three runs in four innings. He is 3-0 in his last four appearances. … Jake Davies went 4-for-4 with his first home run of the season, two RBIs and two runs. He came into August batting .189, but has since posted a .364 average in the month, with seven RBIs and four runs. … Bryan Hudson and Mike Meyers set the table at the top of the order, both having three hit days.
