HIGHLIGHTS: With a seven-run fourth inning the PawSox (61-56) erased a 7-0 deficit, but the Bisons got it right back and then some with three runs in the bottom half of the inning and a few more insurance runs in the sixth. … In his Triple-A debut starter Keith Couch lasted only one inning after allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks. He needed 45 pitches to make it out of the first. It was the first time in his last eight starts that Couch was unable to make it through five innings or more. … Jeremy Hazelbaker (3-for-4) hit a three-run homer in the fourth and a solo shot in the ninth. He had four RBIs, two runs scored and was caught stealing. He is batting .360 with seven RBIs and two stolen bases in six August games. … Will Middlebrooks extended his hitting streak to five games with a fourth inning solo home run, his second in an many games.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Flying Squirrels scored in six of the nine frames to send Portland (56-59) to their second straight loss. … Starter Matt Barnes went 5 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and a walk. He also struck out seven and despite a 1-2 mark in his last four starts, Barnes has registered 32 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings. … Garin Cecchini ended an 0-for-18 slump with a sixth inning single. He is batting .294 in 39 games with Portland and .328 overall this season. … Christian Vazquez went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. He has hit safely in five straight games and has multiple hits in four straight. Vazquez is batting .526 in his last five games and .441 in his last ten.

HIGHLIGHTS: It was a rain-shortened affair in Salem as the game was called after five innings and an hour and 48 minute rain delay. The Salem Sox (55-58) had only three hits in the game. … Starter William Cuevas pitched all five innings, giving up two earns runs off of five hits. It was his first loss since June 1st. … Blake Swihart went 0-for-2, snapping a nine game hitting streak. The catcher is hitting .410 in his last ten games and .282 overall this season with 28 extra base hits.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Drive (43-69) drop to 1-5 in August as the Intimidators take the first two games of a three game set. … Starter Brian Johnson put forth one of his best efforts of the season, allowing just one run (unearned) in six innings. He struck out five and allowed three hits and two walks. Since returning from the disabled list Johnson has posted a 1.00 ERA in four starts. … Sean Coyle and Jesus Loya both went 2-for-4 for Greenville.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Spinners (27-20) showed no wear after a ten-hour bus ride on Monday as they kick off a six-game road trip on the right foot. …Daniel McGrath earned his first professional win after coming on in relief of Jamie Callahan. The Aussie hurled 2 1/3 perfect innings on the strength of four strikeouts. In 12 innings with Lowell McGrath has struck out 13 batters and walked only one. … Danny Bethea went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.

HIGHLIGHTS: A six run seventh inning pushed the Red Sox (22-18) to a comeback victory. … Wendell Rijo went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run. The 17-year-old Dominican is batting .279 in 32 games. … Venezuelan righty Ellis Jimenez worked the ninth for his fourth save of the season. He has not allow an earned run in his last 11 1/3 innings, spanning eight appearances.

It was the first hits he has collected in August. … Starter Yankory Pimentel went six innings for his third win. He struck out five and allowed two runs on three hits and two walks.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Fisher Cats (54-59) dropped their third straight game as the offense was unable to garner enough runs to overcome a solid effort by Baysox pitchers who struck out nine and allowed only one walk. … New Hampshire starter Marcus Stroman struck out seven over seven innings, but picked up the loss after giving up two runs and eight hits. The 2012 first rounder has struck out 31 in his last three starts. … Andy Burns and A.J. Jimenez both went 2-for-4 with a double each in the game. Jimenez drove in the Cats only run on the night.

HIGHLIGHTS: After having a three-game win streak snapped on Sunday the Rock Cats (55-60) got right back to their winning ways with a rout of Akron to start their road trip. … Top prospect Miguel Sano went 3-for-5 with his 11th homer as a Rock Cata and 27th overall on the season. Sano added a double and drove in three while scoring twice. … The top of the New Britain order went 7-for-14 with two doubles, a triple, four RBIs and six runs scored.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Tigers (21-27) had only five hits but scored four times, which was more than enough for their second straight win. … Kasey Coffman had two of the Tigers hits and drove in a run. … Dominic Ficociello drove in two and scored once. … Starter Jonathan Crawford did not allow a run in 2 2/3 innings, striking out three while allowing three hits and two walks. The 2013 first-rounder has given up just four earned runs in 19 innings.

Vermont is 0-5 in August. … Lake Monsters pitching combined for 15 strikeouts and only one walk. Starter Lou Trivino did not allow an earned run in his five innings of work. … B.J. Boyd went 1-for-3 with a walk for the third straight night. He also scored a run and swiped his sixth base of the season.
