at Portland Sea Dogs – Charlie Haeger (1-2, 3.99 ERA)
NOTE: It’s been a mixed bag from Charlie Haeger since he arrived in Portland at the beginning of the month. In his first three starts he allowed 6 earned runs and 8 hits over 15 2/3 innings, then followed with 7 earned and 16 hits over 13 2/3 in his next two starts. He has allowed 4 home runs in his last three starts. Altoona starter David Bromberg has allowed 2 earned runs in his last three starts.
Syracuse Chiefs – Yunesky Maya (1-4, 5.07 ERA)
at Pawtucket Red Sox – Chris Hernandez (3-2, 3.58 ERA)
NOTE: Be it starting or relieving, Chris Hernandez is turning into a valuable asset for Gary DiSarcina and the PawSox. With only one small hiccup in the month Hernandez has turned in a 3-0 mark with 2.70 ERA in six May appearances. On the season he has a 3.94 ERA as a reliever and 3.41 as a starter. After spending time with the Washington Nationals, Yunesky Maya returns to make his first start for Syracuse since April 16th.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans – Nick Martinez (4-2, 2.61 ERA)
at Salem Red Sox – Henry Owens (3-2, 3.80 ERA)
NOTE: It hasn’t been the best of months of Henry Owens, but he will get one last chance to put his mark on it. He is 1-1 with a 6.16 ERA in four May starts having served up 5 home runs after only allowing only 1 in five starts in April. Owens has made two starts against Myrtle Beach, both no decisions, and the most recent, back on May 11, was his shortest of the year at 3 1/3 innings. The Pelicans have Nick Martinez on the hill, the 11th best pitching prospect in the Texas Rangers org according to Baseball America. Martinez did pick up a ‘W’ versus the Sox back on May 13th, allowing 3 runs over 6 innings.
Asheville Tourists – N/A
at Greenville Drive – Austin Maddox (0-4, 8.66 ERA)
NOTE: After a brief stint on the disabled list, Austin Maddox returns to the rotation still in search of his first pro win. He has not recorded a decision in his last three outings, including a 5 2/3 inning effort versus the Tourists on May 14th. In that game Maddox allowed a season high 6 runs off of 7 hits and a walk.

Bowie Baysox – Mike Wright (6-0, 3.61 ERA)
at New Britain Rock Cats – Trevor May (4-2, 3.88 ERA)
NOTE: Trevor May makes start number 11 on the season on the heels of two straight victories. The big righty has had a solid namesake month, going 3-1 with a 3.21 ERA and 24 Ks over 28 innings. His only loss of May came against the Baysox when he let up 5 runs and 9 hits in just 4 innings of work. Mike Wright, the No. 8 prospect in Baltimore’s system per Baseball America, gets the nod for the Baysox tonight. He blanked the Rock Cats over 6 innings back on May 16th, allowing just 2 hits while striking out 8.
Binghamton Mets – Logan Verrett (6-1, 3.07 ERA)
at New Hampshire Fisher Cats - Deck McGuire (2-5, 5.17 ERA)
NOTE: Looking to get to .500 before May peels off the calendar, the Fisher Cats send Deck McGuire to the hill for his 11th start of the season. Both McGuire’s ERA (5.17) and WHIP (1.56) are third highest in the Eastern League and his 25 walks rank as fifth most. He is 1-1 versus Binghamton this season in two starts. Logan Verrett, a 'Top 15' Mets pitching prospect, will make his third start of the seasons versus New Hampshire. He is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA versus the Fisher Cats.
