Marathon Bombing Survivor Marc Fucarile Weds Jen Regan at Fenway Park

Love beats hate again.

Marc Fucarile and Jen Regan were married at Fenway Park on Thursday afternoon. Fucarile was the last Boston Marathon bombing survivor to leave the hospital and lost his right leg and suffered multiple other injuries in the second blast last Patriots Day.

The wedding ceremony was held inside the ballpark's EMC club, was attended by about 150 people and was followed by a reception at the Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square.

The couple has a son, Gavin, 6.

Some wedding announcements come with a little more impact than others.

Outside Fenway Park, they shared a kiss for the cameras.

Naturally, they left Fenway Park on a Duck Boat. "Mallard Storm," which is driven by Paul J. Lurie, 32, had the honor of taking the happy couple and wedding party from Fenway Park back to the Hotel Commonwealth. Lurie, originally from Hamden, Conn., has been with Duck Boat Tours for seven years and a driver for three.

"I was surprised, I didn't think the immediate family and bridal party would travel on the duck since there were a few stretch limos outside. The couple looked very happy as did all of the family," Lurie told The OBF Blog via email. Last November, Lurie drove a still-shirted and sober Mike Napoli during the Red Sox Rolling Rally.

"It was a much more intimate moment than the Sox parade last November," Lurie said. "A much more individualized sense of healing."

The healing, and fun, continued when the Dropkick Murphys paid a surprise visit to the reception.

The couple, which first got engaged seven years ago, won a contest for the wedding from Love Runs Through Boston, which covered the full costs for 75 guests, including a reception at the Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Sqaure. It was worth $65,000.

Last week, Fucarile told The OBF Blog that his wedding at Fenway Park became inevitable once they won the contest. "We were going to get married on an island, a beach or Fenway Park," Fucarile said. 'Once we found out it [the reception] would be at the Hotel Commonwealth, I told Jen, 'We’re getting married at Fenway Park somehow.'"
