Florida has seen its share of craziness in recent years.

Add "Swarm of Bees In Left Field" to the list.

Tuesday's Red Sox-Yankees Grapefruit League game in Tampa was delayed for seven minutes in the bottom of the third inning with the Red Sox losing 5-0 as a swarm of bees decided to take its place in left-field at George M. Steinbrenner Stadium.

The bees drove Mike Carp from his spot and play was halted.

The game was delayed until the pesky insects were driven out of the park by spray-can wielding groundskeepers. Mark Teixeira didn't get the chance to offer them some honey, as he suggested. Francisco Cervelli drilled a Felix Doubront pitch to left field for a triple immediately after play resumed, right near the spot where the swarm had been moments earlier.

The Yankees won the game 8-1.

A buzzkill if there ever was one.
