Former Bruins goalie Tim Thomas was a top Trending Twitter topic in Boston late Thursday night.

Here's why.

He took "bunker mentality" to another level in Florida's game against against Washington.

Just ask Capitals defenseman Mike Green. He grabbed the loose puck and stormed directly toward Thomas uncontested on a breakaway after jumping out of the penalty box during Thursday night's game against Florida.

As Green raced toward Thomas, the goalie drifted back toward the crease and fell on his backside but still managed to make this incredible glove save while being sprawled on the ice.

Thomas may have wanted to hunker down somewhere off the grid when it was over. Once again, he lost to Washington. This time it was thanks to a Russian. Alex Ovechkin scored the game-winner for Washington in a 5-4 victory. This comes as Vladimir Putin is basking in the glory of a very successful Olympics and the Russians are amassing troops on their border with Ukraine.

Sticks up, everyone.
