The MFA suited up Cyrus Dallin's iconic "Appeal to the Great Spirit" statue located outside the museum with his own tailored Red Sox jersey to honor of the 2013 World Series champions.

The jersey was sized up from XXL thanks to the MFA's Joel Thompson, costume conservator. Collections engineer, Dante Vallance dressed the Sioux chief, a fixture at the Museum's entrance and Boston landmark.

The MFA also produced a galley of its Boston Starting Nine Beards on its Facebook page, featuring several pieces of art including Vincent van Gogh's "Postman Joseph Roulin" as Jonny Gomes , and Winslow Homer's "The Lookout - All's Well" as pitcher John Lackey.

All was well with Lackey in Game 6 Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the MFA's 26-foot long "Boston Strong" banners hang from the Huntington Avenue facade. The statue will remain decked in Sox gear til Monday.
