Brady causes spectacle at Celtics vs. Lakers

Brady Spectacle.jpg(Updated Tuesday at 1:30 a.m.: The Celtics played again at Staples Monday night, beating the Clippers 94-85. A different set of LA celebs were there to be seen, including Clippers super fan Billy Crystal. Some Boston fans may have wanted to know if Tom Brady was there again to back the Celtics. He was not spotted anywhere by the ESPN cameras during their telecast, so I'm guessing the answer was no. Maybe he was there doing his best Bobby Valentine and went full-out with the fake mustache. Was he there Sunday just because the Lakers were the home team? Or was Stub Hub sold out? He probably ran out of accessories and Gisele didn't have time to go shopping.)

Tom Brady caused a spectacle at Sunday's Celtics-Lakers game in Los Angeles. The Patriots QB looked way too comfortable sitting court-side and chatting with his pal Kobe Bryant during Boston's 97-94 to the Lakers at the Staples Center. The Brentwood resident went slightly beyond Hollywood in raising a spectacle with those spectacles. I'm guessing they weren't from the reading glasses display at CVS. It looks like the Los Angeles Jaguars may have found their starting QB for 2015.

The folks at Masshole Sports raised the question of whether or not Gisele dressed Brady before he left the house Sunday. No doubt she dresses Brady every time he leaves the house and isn't headed for Gillette Stadium. Notice how Brady also managed to work in his "TB" hat into Sunday's wardrobe - as opposed to a Celtics or Patriots hat. Does he ever leave the house without that logo somewhere on his threads? Does Brady need corrective lenses or was he just trying to make a fashion statement? Does TB12 have trouble seeing his receivers inside domed stadiums in February against teams wearing white uniforms and "NY" logos on the side of their helmets? Inquiring minds want to know.

maria menuous.jpgMedford native @MariaMenounos was way less subtle in her support for the Celtics. She wore her pride and wore it quite well. She even looked up from her phone once in a while. The green beaded numbers on her customized Paul Pierce jersey were just the right touch to annoy those Lakers fans sitting nearby her who managed to show up by halftime.

Again, we wondered if she'll would be there again Monday night. Sadly, she was not. Come on, the folks at "Extra" or the her partner on "Dancing With the Stars" could have given her the night off. We were hoping after Sunday's game was over that she had made a bet with Metta World Peace to wear a Lakers bikini at center court if the Celtics lost.

Which reminds us of the lone silver lining in New England's Super Bowl XLVI defeat:

Even more bizarre than Brady's glasses or Rajon Rondo's pre-game shades in Sunday's close-but-no-Red-cigar Celtic loss was the revelation during an interview with ABC from Rondo that he contacted the Patriots about trying out as wide receiver during the NBA lockout. Rondo, who played football in high school, said he spoke with Coach Bill Belichick and his own agent before deciding against it. Brady reportedly had a less-than-enthusiastic reaction when asked about the possibility of trying to find Rondo on an open route. The thought of Rondo trying to comprehend the Hoodie's playbook while trying to contain his latest childish impulse during one of Belichick's practices made that foolishness an impossibility.
