Video: Tebow visits Jimmy Fallon; Tracy Morgan rips into Tom Brady
Tim Tebow joined NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" for real on Wednesday night. Tebow has been parodied on Fallon's show and on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" in recent weeks. Now it was his turn.
Tebow appeared as a guest on Fallon's show, which was taped in Indianapolis. The two talked about about Tebowing, Fallon thanked Tebow for making the season exciting - especially for non-Patriots fans - and the pair discussed Fallon's recent appearance as "Tebowie"
"You were a little off tune and a little pitchy," Tebow said. The Broncos QB closed his segment by firing an autographed jersey into the crowd with a t-shirt gun.
Before Tebow's appearance, Tracy Morgan took several tasteless cheap shots at Tom Brady, joking that he and Brady "went to special-ed school together" and later adding Brady "wore a crash helmet on the little bus and spit on the window." Morgan then likened Brady to Justin Bieber before picking the Giants to win the Super Bowl. Not sure if he knew who they were playing, His gibberish on Brady kicks in at the 2:40 mark:
Fallon is in Indianapolis for the rest of the week. Among his upcoming scheduled guests are New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees Thursday and Shaquille O'Neal Friday. "Jimmy Fallon's Super Bowl Special," features fellow SNL alumnus Adam Sandler and current cast member Andy Samberg live after the Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5.
Wednesday's interview came a few weeks after Fallon paid homage to Tebow while working in Tom Brady and the Patriots. Tebow and David Bowie merged as "Tebowie" performed a revised version of Bowie's classic "Space Oddity" in which he sang: “Tim Tebow to Jesus Christ (as opposed to Bowie's "Ground control to Major Tom") ... can't win by myself but with your help I might." And later sang: "This is Jesus Christ to Tim Tebow, please leave me alone ... I hear that you play New England next week. Dude you're on your own. Brady is too good and I've got better things to do." Tebowie nailed that one. Unfortunately, that clip is no longer available or we'd repost it.
And, of course, in an episode hosted by Fallon in December, NBC's "Saturday Night Live" brought Brady, Bill Belichick, the Good Lord and Tebow together. In that skit, Jesus (played by Jason Sudeikis) referred to Belichick with devil horns and referred to Brady as "God's nephew."
