Five ways the Celtics can win the title
2. Emulate the Dallas Mavericks
If you're a little hazy after the lockout, here's a reminder that the Dallas Mavericks -- and not the Miami Heat -- won the NBA title in 2011. The Mavericks did it with one superstar (Dirk Nowitzki) and a solid team effort from the rest of the players. On any given night, Paul Pierce or Ray Allen can give you that Dirk-like scoring. Rajon Rondo can be Jason Kidd. And Kevin Garnett can give you more than Tyson Chandler on offense, though less on defense. What the Celtics need that the Mavericks possessed is consistent 3-point shooting (Keyon Dooling, E'Twaun Moore?) and tenacious team defense. And they need to buy into the team concept.
