While Game 4 was a letdown, Game 5 was downright bizzarre. Kendrick Perkins picked up two technical fouls in the first half and earned an ejection. A short time later, Glen Davis took an elbow from Dwight Howard that knocked Davis out of the game and almost knocked him out of consciousness. In a frightening scene, the almost 300-pound Davis struggled to find his footing and stumbled into the arms of referee Joey Crawford at midcourt. Davis did not return. Rasheed Wallace would later foul out, leaving the Celtics without their three most capable big men. A series that was in the bag suddenly seemed doomed.
