April 19: Bruins break through in playoffs
After finishing the regular season with a 41-29-12 record (94 points), the Boston Bruins were rewarded with the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and a date with the hated Montreal Canadiens. In Game 6, the Bruins faced elimination, and the score was tied 4-4 with just over four minutes left in regulation. But Marco Sturm pumped in his second playoff goal with 2:37 remaining, and the Bruins forced Game 7 in dramatic fashion.
