Reserve guard Nate Robinson was a huge key to the Celtics' Game 6 victory over Orlando on Friday night. He scored 13 points in a little more than 13 minutes, and stabilized a potentially damaging situation when starting point guard Rajon Rondo fell to the floor and left the game in the first half.

“It was huge, it was big. I am just speechless right now. My teammates, we got the job done today... I mean just the opportunity to play. I got my chance today. I just showed that I could play the game of basketball,” Robinson said afterward.

He became the latest in Boston sports folklore to emerge in the postseason as an unlikely or unexpected hero. Here are some other reserves-to-riches storylines through the years.
