Fresh off the disappointment of not landing Tim Duncan, the Celtics took Chauncey Billups with the No. 3 pick in the 1997 draft. Coach Rick Pitino lost patience with the point guard and traded him to Toronto for Kenny Anderson midway through his first season. Billups has gone on to lead the Detroit Pistons to an NBA championship and has helped Detroit become a perennial contender.
