The Celtics signed Mark Blount to a six-year, $38 million deal on July 15, 2004. After playing his way into the contract at the end of 2003, Blount cooled off to 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 2004-2005. The Celtics unloaded Blount's enormous contract for the enormous contracts of Michael Olowokandi and Wally Szczerbiak in a deal that also sent Ricky Davis to Minnesota.
