James Posey (41) and Sam Cassell (top) were two of the top contributors off the Celtics bench, along with big men Leon Powe and PJ Brown. Posey averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game off the pine in the series against Atlanta.
Cleveland leaned heavy on its bench against the Wizards in the first round, with Daniel Gibson (1), Joe Smith (32), and Anderson Varejao (bottom) all averaging better than 18 minutes per game. Gibson averaged 11.8 points per game (third on the team) against Washington, while Smith and Varejao combined to average more than 10 boards per contest.
Overall, the Cavs' bench averaged 28.4 points per game during the first round of the playoffs, while the Celtics' bench averaged 25.2 points per contest.
