Allen, Pietrus out vs. Magic, Rondo probable
WINTER PARK, Fla. -- The Celtics are slowly getting healthier, with three injured players joining practice today at Rollins College. But two key rotation players are out for tomorrow's game against the Orlando Magic and a third could be added to the list.
Rajon Rondo (right wrist), Chris Wilcox (left calf), and Keyon Dooling (right knee) returned to practice in preparation for tomorrow's game. But Ray Allen (jammed left ankle) and Mickael Pietrus (strained right shoulder) are out, according to coach Doc Rivers.
Also, center Jermaine O'Neal's left knee swelled after a knee-to-knee collision with Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu in Monday night's game. He did not practice today and is questionable for tomorrow.
Rivers said Allen's ankle injury is not serious and he could return Friday against the Pacers.
Pietrus said he injured his shoulder trying to get around a screen during the 100-94 win over the Wizards Sunday, and he said he would like to play tomorrow.
"That's my plan," he said. "I'm going to be OK."
