Shaquille O'Neal might play for the Celtics against the New York Knicks Wednesday. But no determination had been made before the Celtics' practice Tuesday.
"We're going to see what he can do in practice and if he's good he'll play and if he's not we'll set him," coach Doc Rivers said of O'Neal.
Rivers and the Celtics conducted interviews before a brief training session and were scheduled to depart for New York early in the afternoon.
Rivers on the Celtics' defensive plans against the Knicks' Amar'e Stoudemire: "Whoever we start at center will guard him. Whoever starts at center will post him. So we won't do much different. Obviously, there will be times when Baby (Glen Davis) and Kevin (Garnett) are on the floor together and that will be an effective lineup, as well, for us."
