Ray Allen was suspended about five hours before the Celtics met the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. So, the team went with another Allen -- Tony -- in the starting lineup for the first time this season.

Paul Pierce was also slated to take the night off, but convinced coach Doc Rivers to allow him to play.

Both Ray Allen and Pierce could be on the bench against Washington tomorrow.

"Paul just wanted to play, he doesn't want to sit out two games in a row," Rivers said.
