What is it like being the floor general for three stars in Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce?

I don't think it's too difficult to give those guys the ball. I keep track in my mind how many shots each guy is taking. I just know what plays to go to in certain situations. It's something you have to do. You don't even look at the stat sheet. But you've got to keep in mind the plays you just ran; it's not that simple. They're not selfish guys.

So if one guy gets 12 and another gets seven, it's not a big deal, as long as we're winning.

What do you know about Garnett's and Allen's game now that you didn't know before?

Just their work ethic. I knew they were all-stars, but they work so hard at it. They have a system to what they do.

What do you know about them as people that you didn't know before?

They're humble. They have a lot of knowledge. They're not standoffish. They share a lot of things they know.

Who is the toughest point guard you have to defend in the NBA?

There is not just one that's too hard. It's every night. You got to bring it every night. It's the NBA.

Are you a trash talker?

I'm more vocal this year, as far as getting us in sets [offensively]. But I don't really trash talk. Nah, I'm not really into that unless someone comes at me or the game's tight.

What is your hidden talent?

I want to be a NASCAR driver. I think I can drive really well. I sing a lot. It ain't nothing. People know I can sing.

Would you sing the national anthem if the Celtics ask you to do it?

I wouldn't mind. Not at all.

What are your nicknames?

One of them is "Johnny" [from the second half of his name].

Who has the best nickname on the team?

Take your pick. They call Ray "Jesus" [from the character Allen played in the film He Got Game]. They call Paul "The Truth." KG is "The Ticket." [James] Posey is "Pose." "E-House" [for Eddie House]. "Big Baby" [for Glen Davis]. "Grasshopper" [for Brandon Wallace]. Everybody has a nickname on this team.

What was the best part of having training camp in Europe?

The camaraderie of it. We chilled a lot together. Got to know each other and the things we like to do off the court. We laughed and joked. We joke a lot on this team. A lot of teams probably don't have this chemistry.

How much pasta did you eat in Rome?

I'm not going to eat pasta for about two years now. But it was a good experience.
