In 1986, despite battling an injury, Hurst won 13 games and posted a 2.99 ERA as the Sox advanced to the postseason. In the '86 Series vs. the Mets, Hurst. won Game 1 1-0 and Game 5 4-2 to give Boston a 3-2 lead, which prompted Darryl Strawberry to say at the time, "Clemens is tough, but he's no Hurst."
