What if the Red Sox were only homegrown?
During his various media appearances and interviews in advance of his current team hosting his former one, Cubs president Theo Epstein spoke whimsically about what it would have been like to oversee a Red Sox roster that was entirely homegrown. Giving John Lackey $82.5 million in free agency tends to inspire such thoughts, but it is an interesting notion. So interesting, in fact, that we put together a 25-man Red Sox roster made up entirely of active players who began their pro careers in the Boston organization. And you know what? Theo might be on to something.
