Suddenly the Red Sox lost 14 of 17 games, then the Yankees came to Fenway Park and swept the Red Sox in a four-game series known as The Boston Massacre. The Yankees' light-hitting shortstop belted a pop fly over the left-field wall and the Yankees won 5-4 to advance to the playoffs and eventually win their second consecutive World Series.
