It was a lost season for Coco Crisp, who ranked 24th among all center fielders with 400 or more plate appearances in on-base percentage (.317) and OPS (.702), and fielded more erratically than anticipated. He was a disaster as a leadoff man: his OBP of .293 was the lowest among AL hitters out of the top spot, more than 92 percentage points behind teammate Kevin Youkilis, whose .385 OBP ranked second in the league.
