Single-A outfielder Ryan Kalish, 19, hit .368 in 23 games for the Lowell Spinners last season, and isn't projected to reach the majors until sometime after 2010 or 2011. More on Kalish from the Globe's Amalie Benjamin: He "was a ninth-round draft choice in 2006 (but fell that far only because of signability). He's a speedy base stealer and was a favorite of manager Gary DiSarcina at short-season Lowell."
