Fans show their Red Sox pride
George Sullivan, 51, and his mother, Carol Sullivan, 74, both of West Springfield, were on the road at 6 a.m. and had secured a spot under an awning on Tremont Street. Carol is a former reporter and has been a fan since the late ‘40s, and was thrilled to be on hand to help celebrate. George started rooting for the Sox during the ’67 Impossible Dream season, and credited the pitching of players like Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke for helping to put this year’s team over the top.
