Lost without Lowell
"Has anyone been more consistent, more reliable, and more, yes, valuable to the Red Sox cause this year than Mike Lowell?" columnist Bob Ryan asked Thursday. Leading the team with a .326 average and 120 RBIs, the third baseman has helped fill the void left by an injury to Manny Ramirez and the slumping J.D. Drew. He's also hit over 20 home runs for the second straight year in Boston and had a career-high .380 on-base percentage.
