Jeremy HermidaOF, San Diego Padres
Hermida came to the Red Sox from the Florida Marlins following the 2009 season, and early in the 2010 season, many fans called for Hermida to replace David Ortiz as the Red Sox DH after the 26-year-old got off to a good start in Boston. But Hermida struggled, was released, and signed with Oakland. He split last season between the Padres and Reds, hitting .191 in 66 at-bats. He reached an agreement on a minor-league deal with the Padres in December. Early in 2012, Hermida underwent sports hernia surgery. He is expected to return before the All-Star break.
