He played hard, he played hurt, and he answered every question at the end of every game. Damon became a legend in Red Sox Nation. One of the game's best leadoff hitters, Johnny scored 100 runs every season between 1998-2006. On Oct. 20, 2004, Damon hit a second-inning grand slam during Game 7 of the ALCS in Yankee Stadium, helping launch the Sox into the World Series.
