Bard is a prime example of why you shouldn't judge a prospect too soon. After a star career at UNC, Bard struggled in the minors last year, walking more than he struck out and allowing 59 runs in 75 1/3 innings. But he's turned it around big-time in 2008, as he allowed just two runs in 28 innings at low-A Greenville while striking out 43 and walking just four batters. He's been promoted to Portland, and he's still just 22.
