
In a 21-year career in which he had 2,715 hits, Bill Buckner is remembered for his error when Mookie Wilson's grounder rolled through his legs, allowing the winning run to score and capping a three-run rally as the Mets won the sixth game of the 1986 World Series 6-5 in 10 innings in New York.
