Hideki OkajimaFor all of the concern about Okajima last season, he has a 2.40 career ERA over two major league seasons. The Red Sox felt that Okajima was pitching his best baseball of the season at year's end, and Okajima has proven effective at retiring both lefthanders and righthanders. Okajima has a 2.14 career postseason ERA, which is why the Sox will be especially careful with him early in the year. According to Farrell, multiple-inning outings for the lefty are far more likely in the second half of the season.
