Here’s some warm news for Red Sox fans that want to put 2014 as far in their rearview mirrors as possible: Spring Training is less than four months away.
The Red Sox announced the schedule for their 2015 Spring Training on Wednesday, with pitchers and catchers reporting on Feb. 20, while the rest of the team will begin workouts five days later.
The team begins their spring game schedule with their annual doubleheader against Northeastern and Boston College on March 3. Their first action against a big league opponent comes on March 5 when they take on the Minnesota Twins.
The Sox play their first game against the Yankees on March 11 as they travel to the Bronx Bombers training facility in Tampa. They then welcome the Yankees to JetBlue Park two days later.
The team will hold their Open House at JetBlue Park on Feb. 28, an event which is free to the public. The Sox equipment truck will depart Fenway Park on Feb. 12 in their annual “Truck Day” send off.
