Lineups and Game Notes: Betts Back in the Outfield After Making Debut in the Bronx

After getting blown out 6-0 in the first game in the Bronx over the weekend, the Red Sox took two very different roads to win two straight. On Saturday it was due to strong pitching, while on Sunday it was the offense finally waking up. Sitting at six games back in the AL East, the Red Sox welcome Theo Epstein’s Chicago Cubs to Fenway for a three-game set; here are Monday's starting lineups:

Notes: Tonight the Sox open up a 10-game, 11-day homestand with the 1st of 3 games against the Cubs before an off-day Thursday...The Sox then host the Orioles for 3 and the White Sox for 4 before heading to Houston for a 3-game set to wrap up the 1st half..Tonight the Red Sox host the 1st of 3 straight games against the Cubs...Overall the Sox are 5-4 in Interleague action against the Cubs, with 2 series at Wrigley Field (2005, 2012)...This is just the 2nd time the Cubs have visited Fenway Park in Interleague contests, also 2011 when the Sox took 2 of 3…The only other times these clubs met here was the 1918 World Series, with Boston winning 4-games-to-2, with the last 3 at Fenway Park...Before the 2013 title, Boston had not clinched a World Series at home since defeating the Cubs on 9/11/18.
