From the beginning of February until sometime in October, there aren't many opportunities for Red Sox players to get away from the day-to-day grind of baseball.
Monday was one of those rare road off days for the club, and several players took advantage by swinging down to Jake Peavy's family ranch, Southern Falls Plantation, in Alabama, a.k.a. the home of Peavy's duck boat that was being refurbished at last check.

Luke Peavy, the younger brother of the Red Sox righty, posted a photo from the trip on Twitter as well:
Not everyone on the team made the 1,110 mile trip south to spend the day with the Peavys. Dustin Pedroia and Will Middlebrooks hit the Mall of America, where they had a grand old time playing games, and riding the roller coaster:
Unfortunately, all the male bonding did not translate into a win in Minnesota on Tuesday night as the Twins won in a walkoff, 8-6.
