Jose Iglesias may be the future shortstop of the Red Sox, but his stay with the parent team is over for now.

Iglesias has spent the past couple of days on the major league team as protection while the Red Sox figured out the Kevin Youkilis situation.

Iglesias' roster spot will likely be taken by Aaron Cook, who will start Saturday vs. the Orioles in place of Josh Beckett, who will miss a start with a lat strain.

The Red Sox certainly liked what they saw from Clayton Mortensen, who pitched three innings in relief in Boston's 4-2 loss to the Oakland A's Wednesday night. He struck out six.
