The Red Sox grounds crew — the collective MVPs of the Saturday doubleheader ahead of Tropical Storm Irene — resurfaced the Sox infield the past two days in anticipation of the Yankees series that starts tonight.

The grounds crew used a whopping nine tons of the drying agent Turface on Saturday to keep the infield playable when the Red Sox swpt a doubleheader from the Oakland Athletics.

Yesterday, the crew had to scrape off the drying agent and then re-do the infield.
