Toronto has obtained RHP Edwin Jackson and 3B Mark Teahen from the cost-cutting White Sox for pitchers Jason Frasor and Zach Stewart.

It appears Jackson will be flipped to the Cardinals as part of a deal for OF Colby Rasmus.

Meanwhile, if you're hoping Carlos Beltran will land in Boston, find another hope. While the Red Sox are involved in those discussions, Beltran and agent Scott Boras are pulling the strings and San Francisco is where they want to go.

UPDATE, 12:50 p.m.: Toronto has reportedly traded Jackson, Octavio Dotel, and Marc Rzepczynski for Rasmus.

Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos turned a decent starter and two bullpen arms into a 24-year-old outfielder with a career 111 OPS+ and good power. That's a nice deal.
