BALTIMORE — Who would you rather have, Dustin Pedroia or Robinson Cano? For Red Sox and Yankees fans, it's a great question to debate. It's not quite Ted Williams or Joe DiMaggio, but it's a fun topic.

Cano was the American League All-Star at second base. But Pedroia is the best second baseman in the league at the moment.

Check out their stats for the season:

Pedroia
.295/.401/.468
36 extra-base hits
50 RBIs
17 steals
137 OPS+
5.1 WAR

Cano
.294/.339/.506
41 extra-base hits
59 RBIs
6 steals
129 OPS+
2.7 WAR

Their defense is excellent, too. You could not go wrong with either player. But right now, Pedroia is the clear choice given his 1.177 OPS in the last 35 games.
