A few notes: The managers (Ron Washington and Bruce Bochy) just did a press conference with the starters. Washington indicated that he would use Jose Valverde to close, which is an interesting choice. With Mariano Rivera out, he has to come up with something. ... Bochy said he wanted a third catcher, which is why Miguel Montero of Arizona was a late addition instead of another first baseman such as Ryan Howard or Albert Pujols. ...
