Good afternoon from JFK Airport, where I'm connecting to a flight to California.

By now you know what transpired at Fenway Park today. Daisuke Matsuzaka was at his Trick or Treat best, Jed Lowrie continued to mash and even Carl Crawford joined in the fun.

But this also seems worthy of pointing out:

The 5-10 Red Sox are now 4.5 games out of first place with 147 games left. So if they can somehow make up a game every 33 games or so, they should be fine.

They haven't turned the corner yet. But they're on the right street. Once again, baseball teaches everybody (including me) that it takes a heck of a lot more than two weeks to figure out what a team is all about.
