FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Red Sox are certainly in on reliever/starter Chad Durbin, who surprisingly is still out there as a free agent. They're waiting to hear an answer after making an offer, but so far, no word.

Durbin also has interest from the Phillies, Tampa Bay, and Texas. Tampa Bay would be the ideal spot since it is looking for bullpen help, but the Red Sox seem to have the funds to make it happen.

The Sox are looking for more veteran depth to back up their five starters after Tim Wakefield and Alfredo Aceves. We should know more soon.

*Both John Lackey and Jon Lester were quite impressive throwing BP a few minutes a ago. Lackey got a few swings and misses from Carl Crawford while Lester was really popping the mitt.

*Interesting to watch Rich Hill as he tries to perfect his new sidearm delivery, which could be very effective to lefthanded hitters. Hill will be competing for a lefty spot in the bullpen with Hideki Okajima and Dennys Reyes. Hill worked well against JD Drew.

*Bobby Jenks warmed up and threw well. Jenks usually starts camp slowly and builds up very gradually and he appears to be doing the same in this camp.
