It wasn't as jaw-dropping as seeing Dice-K in his Teletubbies costume in 2007, but the Red Sox rookies donned costumes yesterday in what has become an annual tradition before the final road trip of the season.

In the NESN video above, you'll see Ryan Kalish in a "Reno: 911!" police uniform, Lars Anderson as a court jester, Yamaico Navarro buzzed around as a bumblebee, and Daniel Nava was ready to fight crime as Batman... errr Batgirl rather.

The rookies wore the costumes on the train ride from Boston to New York where the Sox will take on the Yankees tonight.

NESN's Heidi Watney has more photos of the well-dressed rookies on her Twitter page.

Last year, the Sox rookies went with a "Wizard of Oz" theme, with Junichi Tazawa in a Dorothy costume complete with pig-tailed wig.
