The Red Sox have allowed six or more runs a staggering 17 times in 32 games this season. What's perhaps even more amazing is that they've managed to win eight of those games. The breakdown:
10+ runs: four times (1-3)
8+ runs: seven times (2-5)
7+ times: 11 times (4-7)
6+ times: 17 times (8-9)
The Red Sox have a team ERA of 4.85 and have a WHIP of 1.42.
------------
Meanwhile, four unheralded Yankee reserves (Francisco Cervelli, Ramiro Pena, Marcus Thames and Randy Winn) are 9 of 20 with 9 RBI, 5 walks and 4 runs scored in the last two games.
