The Red Sox completed a three-game sweep of the Oakland A's with a 5-2 victory before a Fenway Park crowd of 37, 317.

Jonathan Papelbon came into the game in the ninth inning to record his team-leading 31st save of the season, striking out Daric Barton to end the game. It made a winner of starter Daisuke Matsuzaka, who improved his record to 12-2 on the season.

The Red Sox will head to Kansas City where they will open a three-game set against the Royals Monday night.
