ST. PETERSBURG - The Sox have scored in the top of the first thanks to a throwing error by catcher Dioner Navarro, who was trying to keep Jacoby Ellsbury close at third.

Ellsbury had bounced a double down the first-base line and was sacrificed to third by Dustin Pedroia. But Scott Kazmir settled down and struck out David Ortiz and Mike Lowell.
